Well...I turned 27. Amy had some pretty amazing things planned for my birthday. I don't know how she'll ever top this. But this is what happened:
Thursday I came into work, and about an hour into it, I was called to reception to pick up a package. Turns out, Amy sent me a lifesize blow-up batman with happy birthday balloons attached to it. Needless to say, it was a little embarassing dragging it through the office back to my cubicle, but it was pretty cool. It now resides in my guest chair, looking a little deflated. (I didn't have a camera on me, so I don't have any pictures of it, but its pretty cool.)
After work, I met Amy at the bus to go home, and she hands me a wrapped gift and a card. The card has in it, "Go Red Sox!" and the gift is a book about the history of the Red Sox. Well, thats not it...she got me tickets to Game 1 of the 5 game Yankees vs Red Sox Series at Fenway!! Here are the tickets...

So we drive up that night. Amy packed me a bag in advance, and we head on up! We meet up with my sis on Lansdowne Street and head on in!! Here are some pics...
 The ride in to Fenway
 We're getting closer...
 Lansdowne Street
Walking into my first Red Sox Game at Fenway!
 Amy and the Birthday Boy
My man Big Papi (who did nothing during the game)
The Wei Family at the game
 Sadly we lost.
So we left with heads hung low.
Who knew what this game would be the start of. Sigh. Makes me sad just thinking about it. Oh well...who knows...still a month and a half left to play!
We headed back on Saturday and rushed back into the city to a dinner Amy planned with a bunch of friends. We went to Peking Duck House. Yummmm Duck. Sadly we had to split into 2 tables, so I didn't get to hang with the other table as much as I wanted but here are the two tables.

Finally we headed to Planet Rose for a little Karaoke and Drinking.
This is the one and only song sung by our group that night...Two Princes by Spin Doctors.
Some college girl was turning 21 that same night, so they were hogging the songs. The bartender also got in like 5 songs. So not only could we not sing, but we couldn't drink either. Oh well...It was a great night and an amazing weekend.
Thanks Ames and thanks everyone for coming out!
See you all next year! |
