CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE!

Well. I love the holidays. The smell of winter in the air...even though in NYC its been a balmy 50 something. I love Christmas and all that comes with it. From God giving the gift of his son, baby Jesus...to the decorations on houses, the shopping, the radio channel that plays all christmas songs, and the christmas specials on tv.

As a child, I loved Christmas Specials the most. It combined my two loves...Christmas and TV. Some of my favorites...Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Garfield, The Year Without A Santa Claus, and especially....A Charlie Brown Christmas. Charlie Brown Specials were always great, but A Charlie Brown Christmas was the best. I always made sure to watch that special. Even to this day, I will find when it is showing and watch it again.

There is something great about it...it encompasses all my memories of Christmas. The music of Vince Guaraldi, the tiny christmas tree, the pontificating of Charlie and Linus all brings to mind the Decembers of old.

Anyway, you can imagine my excitement, when this year...I found A Charlie Brown Christmas done by the Cast of Scrubs...a show that I have finally discovered this year.

So check it out. A reimagining of A Charlie Brown Christmas

Austin's Boston Birthday

Well...I turned 27. Amy had some pretty amazing things planned for my birthday. I don't know how she'll ever top this. But this is what happened:

Thursday I came into work, and about an hour into it, I was called to reception to pick up a package. Turns out, Amy sent me a lifesize blow-up batman with happy birthday balloons attached to it. Needless to say, it was a little embarassing dragging it through the office back to my cubicle, but it was pretty cool. It now resides in my guest chair, looking a little deflated. (I didn't have a camera on me, so I don't have any pictures of it, but its pretty cool.)

After work, I met Amy at the bus to go home, and she hands me a wrapped gift and a card. The card has in it, "Go Red Sox!" and the gift is a book about the history of the Red Sox. Well, thats not it...she got me tickets to Game 1 of the 5 game Yankees vs Red Sox Series at Fenway!! Here are the tickets...

So we drive up that night. Amy packed me a bag in advance, and we head on up! We meet up with my sis on Lansdowne Street and head on in!! Here are some pics...

We're getting closer...

My man Big Papi (who did nothing during the game)

Sadly we lost.

So we left with heads hung low.

Who knew what this game would be the start of. Sigh. Makes me sad just thinking about it. Oh well...who knows...still a month and a half left to play!

We headed back on Saturday and rushed back into the city to a dinner Amy planned with a bunch of friends. We went to Peking Duck House. Yummmm Duck. Sadly we had to split into 2 tables, so I didn't get to hang with the other table as much as I wanted but here are the two tables.

Finally we headed to Planet Rose for a little Karaoke and Drinking.

This is the one and only song sung by our group that night...Two Princes by Spin Doctors.

Some college girl was turning 21 that same night, so they were hogging the songs. The bartender also got in like 5 songs. So not only could we not sing, but we couldn't drink either. Oh well...It was a great night and an amazing weekend.

Thanks Ames and thanks everyone for coming out!

See you all next year!

Spiderman vs. Sandman

Seems like they are shooting Spiderman 3 in New York for the next 5 weeks. The location they will be shooting at today? The corner of Williams and Pine, at the Chase Plaza. That is across the street from where Amy works! Whats the scene? A big fight sequence with Spiderman vs Sandman. Will I be there? uhhhh...yes. yes i think i will. Anyone want to see it. Feel free and join me!

This will be the type of stuff I hope I get to see!!

Dear Amy...

Happy Birthday to you. I hope this year brings you everything you could ever wish for. I know some may say turning 26 years old is insignificant, but I think every new day I get to spend with my best friend is a gift. Thank you for always being there. Always helping me be a better person. Always being able to make me laugh. Here's to making your 26th year even better than the 25 years that have preceeded it.

I love you and Happy Birthday.
